About Me

Greetings All,

My name is Lauren and I am 26 years old. I am a third year Doctoral Student in the Division of Global Affairs at Rutgers University, specializing in Conflict and Human Rights. I graduated in 2014 from The College of New Jersey as a double major in Sociology & Women’s & Gender Studies. In the Summer of 2012, I came across the opportunity to leave the United States for the first time. After applying for my passport, my visa, packing, and getting a Yellow Fever shot, I found myself in YaoundĂ©, Cameroon in Central Africa. Ever since that trip, my entire being has been consumed in the most delighted of ways by traveling, planning my next trip, airport layovers, and finding the cheapest flights and hotels. This blog will highlight the places I’ve been to, those that I seek to explore, and my overall experiences and aspirations, both as a Doctoral student and a traveler. Please bear with me through the construction of my blog…

We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us…
